    Overview

    Great opportunity for an experienced anatomic pathology lab manager to work with Interpath at our anatomic pathology site in Lynnwood.

     

    The successful candidate will oversee all operational activities in the anatomic pathology laboratory, including histology, cytology, molecular testing, local courier logistics and client services, coordinating all of these responsibilities with company-wide operations.

    Skills

    Proficient use of Microsoft Office products, use of multiple data bases, coordination of people, effective meeting facilitator, effective written and oral communications.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree in chemical/physical/biological science or equivalent experience.
    • Supervisory experience with good leadership skills.
    • (HTL) ASCP or equivalent, with experience as a histotechnologist (HTL) in an anatomic pathology lab.
    • Demonstrated knowledge of applicable statutory and regulatory requirements relative to operating an anatomic pathology laboratory.
    • Awareness of pathology CPT coding and general knowledge regarding anatomic pathology billing.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills coupled with strong interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to collaborate well.

    Responsibilities

    • Supervision of technical and administrative staff, specimen processors, and couriers within the site’s responsibility.
    • Providing leadership, guidance, and direction during recruitment, hiring and training new employees.
    • Maintenance and management of an efficient and cost effective courier system
    • Effective budget management.
    • Ensuring compliance, within areas of responsibility, of standards set forth by appropriate governmental regulatory agencies.
    • Assisting the COO with identifying and developing departmental goals and objectives that support and reinforce the mission and vision of Interpath Pathology Laboratory.
    • Ensuring prompt delivery of high quality histologically and cytologically prepared slides and stains. Collaborating with pathologists to assure smooth workflow.
    • Demonstrating excellence by promoting quality processes and strives for continuing quality improvement.

    This position performs tasks that involve exposure to blood, body fluids and/or tissues. All employees performing these duties are offered the opportunity to receive the Hepatitis-B vaccination series.

    General Physical Requirements

    • General Office work; prolonged sitting, occasional stooping, reaching, climbing and bending
    • Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs
    • Manual dexterity for typing, 10-key work, and telephone use.
