Job Description

Join Our Team as a Medical Specimen Courier Supervisor at Interpath Laboratory! 

 

We are looking for a highly organized and dedicated individual to manage all courier and logistics operations for routes dispatched from our Chehalis, WA / Seattle, WA / and Portland, OR locations. In this role, you will also oversee and supervise local courier staff to ensure efficient and timely deliveries.

 

Key Functions

  • Significant understanding of the pick up, transport, and delivery of medical specimens using approved methods and transport devices.
  • Function as a skilled resource to Outside Client Services, Sales and laboratory staff regarding logistics and problem resolution.
  • Proactively identify, research and analyze root causes and trends affecting clients and assist in creating solutions.
  • Maintain routes, schedules and appropriate levels of staffing to meet client and laboratory needs.
  • Oversee care on assigned vehicles, including inspecting and completing minor maintenance, and cleaning.
  • Clean and maintain coolers, incubators, and other transport devices.
  • Interact with representatives to achieve customer satisfaction, participate in operational meetings and quality management initiatives.
  • Provide training, on-boarding and competency assessment of all assigned couriers.
  • Coordinate with HR and site manager for hiring of new and replacement staff.
  • Practice client sensitivity at all times.
  • Maintain confidentiality of the client, patient, and company information at all times.
  • Practice supply conservation, discipline, and resource protection at all times.
  • Document incidents and complete assigned tasks through Client Relationship Management (CRM) software.
  • Understand and adhere to HIPAA policies, procedures and regulations to assure patient confidentiality.
  • Monitor for and research reasons for missed pickups and/or deliveries.
  • Perform other work related duties as assigned.

Pay: Starts at $22 - $25 per hour DOE

 

Schedule: Typical week Monday - Friday; Need to be available by phone on weekends.

 

Location: This position will be based out of Chehalis, WA, but the supervisory responsibilities will cover courier and logistics operations in Chehalis, WA / Seattle, WA / and Portland, OR.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver’s license with no restrictions; Clean driving record
  • Supervisory experience is strongly preferred; Courier experience is also a plus
  • Candidates with a demonstrated history of consistent employment, marked by continuity and minimal career gaps, will be strongly preferred

General Physical Requirements

  • Frequent lifting up to 30 lbs. Occasional lifting of 30-60 lbs. 
  • Ability to enter and exit assigned vehicle. Able to sit in vehicle/drive for up to 4 hours nonstop. 
  • Ability to load & unload assigned vehicle, with frequent bending involved. 
  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment as needed. 
  • Regularly handle potentially infectious samples. 
  • Ability to drive assigned vehicle in all types of conditions, including built-up areas, freeway, and rural traffic, hours of darkness, and inclement weather. 
  • May be exposed to odorous chemicals and specimens. 
  • Occasional-to-regular kneeling, bending, stooping and twisting to perform vehicle inspections and minor operator maintenance, including changing tires.

OHSA Category: This position performs tasks that involve exposure to blood, body fluids and/or tissues. All employees performing these duties are offered the opportunity to receive the Hepatitis-B vaccination series.
