Join our team at Pathology Services, P.C., an Interpath Laboratory strategic partner in North Platte, Nebraska. We are eager to invite the next Medical Laboratory Scientist (or MLT) to our growing team. Located in the historic and lovely small city of North Platte, our laboratory is dedicated to providing top-notch service. We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Medical Laboratory Scientist to contribute to our high standards of patient diagnostics.

Work Schedule:

4 days a week, Rotating shifts Monday - Friday (8:30-5:30, 10:00-7:00, 12:30-9:30)
One Saturday every 6 weeks 7:30-5:00, No Sundays
Call available but not mandatory

 

Highlights of Main Job Duties:

  • Perform a variety of laboratory procedures across Chemistry, Hematology, and Immunology departments, including but not limited to blood cell counts, coagulation tests, urinalysis, and comprehensive metabolic panels.
  • Analyze and interpret laboratory results with precision, ensuring accurate and timely reporting to healthcare providers.
  • Operate and maintain state-of-the-art laboratory equipment, ensuring compliance with regulatory and safety standards.
  • Participate in quality control and quality assurance programs to maintain the highest standards of laboratory operations.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to provide critical data for diagnosing and monitoring patient conditions.
  • Ensure accurate documentation of test results and maintain organized laboratory records in compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Stay informed on advancements in laboratory science and technology, actively engaging in professional development opportunities.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be authorized to work in the US
  • MLS, or MLT - ASCP (American Society for Clinical Pathology) certification or equivalent required.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to ethical standards.

General Physical Requirements

  • Manual Dexterity: Frequent use of hands and fingers to manipulate small objects, operate laboratory instruments, and handle specimens with precision.
  • Standing and Walking: Prolonged periods of standing and walking are required while performing laboratory tests and operating equipment.
  • Lifting and Carrying: Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 25 pounds, such as reagent containers, specimen trays, or small laboratory equipment.
  • Visual Acuity: Excellent visual abilities are necessary to read and interpret test results, operate instruments, and review microscopic samples.
  • Hearing: Adequate hearing to respond to auditory alarms on equipment, interact with team members, and communicate effectively.
  • Reaching and Bending: Frequent reaching, bending, and stooping to retrieve supplies, load instruments, and access materials in storage areas.
  • Mobility: Ability to move freely and quickly within the laboratory and between departments as needed.
  • Stress Tolerance: Ability to perform tasks under pressure and maintain attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
  • Hand-Eye Coordination: High degree of hand-eye coordination for precise specimen handling and operation of laboratory equipment.
