Job Description

Interpath Laboratory is seeking an experienced Phlebotomy Supervisor to oversee all aspects of a moderately complex clinical laboratory, including patient reception, specimen collection, processing, and reporting for all entities owned or affiliated with Interpath Laboratory in the assigned area. This is a working supervisor role, so phlebotomy experience is essential. Internal candidates who have demonstrated leadership potential will be given preference. This position is primarily based at our Beaverton Patient Service Center, with travel required to other sites. Travel may increase as new business start-ups are launched in the region.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Operational Oversight: Manage and oversee all operational activities within the assigned territory, including patient reception, specimen collection, and processing.

  • Leadership & Team Development: Serve as a liaison and ambassador for Interpath Laboratory, fostering a culture of appreciation and quality among team members. Supervise and guide your team with support from the Regional Manager.

  • Compliance & Procedures: Ensure strict adherence to corporate policies, protocols, and procedures to maintain compliance at all sites.

  • Team Management: Develop work schedules, resolve operational challenges, and implement new procedures to ensure the smooth functioning of laboratory and patient service center operations.

  • Quality & Service Standards: Enforce quality and customer service standards, ensuring that services are delivered efficiently and meet Interpath’s high expectations.

  • Productivity Monitoring: Continuously evaluate and monitor team productivity and efficiency to ensure optimal operations.

 

Schedule: Monday - Friday, with weekends as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

Requirements:

  • High School graduate or equivalent

  • Previous phlebotomy experience required

  • Supervisory or management experience strongly preferred

  • Willingness to travel between various sites as needed

Skills:

  • Strong communication skills

  • Accurate and detail-oriented

  • Excellent organizational skills

  • Ability to manage workload and delegate as needed

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and multiple databases

General Physical Requirements

  • Laboratory setting with automated equipment emitting ambient sounds.
  • High level of staff interaction in close quarters; must hear alarms to ensure timely response to safety needs.
  • Regular handling of potentially infectious samples, with required protective gear (lab coat, gloves, goggles, face shield).
  • Ability to sit, stand, bend, kneel, crawl, twist, and walk on uneven surfaces throughout the day.
  • Frequent bending, extended standing, and lifting up to 30 pounds.
  • Flexibility to work extended hours or overtime as needed.

OSHA Category: This role involves exposure to blood, body fluids, and/or tissues, with Hepatitis-B vaccination offered to all performing these duties.
