Now Hiring: Cytologist (Omaha, Nebraska)

Be part of something new! Interpath Laboratory is opening a state-of-the-art facility in Omaha, NE, and we’re seeking a PRN Cytologist to help build it from the ground up.

About the Role:
In the initial phase, you’ll play a key role in setting up policies, equipment, and test validations as we prepare for full operations. Once the lab is live, you’ll perform screening and interpretation of cytologic specimens, ensuring accurate and timely diagnostic results.

Qualifications:

• ASCP certification (or eligible) in Cytology required

• Experience in a clinical lab setting preferred

• Excitement for hands-on startup work and process development

• Bachelor’s degree in Cytotechnology or a related biological science

• ASCP certification as a Cytotechnologist (CT) required

• Minimum of 3 years of recent cytology experience in a clinical laboratory setting

• Proven competency in both gynecologic and non-gynecologic cytology

• Familiarity with laboratory setup, validation, and quality control procedures preferred

• Excellent attention to detail and ability to work independently in a startup environment

Lab staff must wear appropriate protective gear (lab coat, gloves, goggles, and face shield) at all times while in the lab and are regularly exposed to infection by handling potentially infectious samples. Physical requirements, in addition to willingness & ability to wear protective gear while working, are: 

• Ability to sit and or stand for extended period of times
• Lift up to 25 pounds
• Mobility to climb stairs on a regular basis
• Must be able to distinguish color and pass vision acuity test in compliance with CAP regulations
