Tues/Wed 9:00 AM - 4:30 PM Location: Patient Service Center at CBHA's Wahluke Clinic off of Government Rd.  Essential Job Functions:- Performs administrative duties including providing excellent customer service to all patients, clients and employees. - Answers phones in a timely manner following company standards on proper phone etiquette.- Monitors for instrumentation alarms and responds to them in a timely manner.- Maintains an awareness of surroundings as part of expectation to monitor for issues and safety hazards in the work environment.- Maintains a readiness to respond to colleague questions and instructions.- Serves patients by identifying the best method for retrieving blood samples and other specimens, preparing specimens for laboratory testing and performing screening procedures - Consistently monitors highly detailed information that requires a high degree of accuracy, including, but not limited to verifying specimen information, performing data entry, and properly identifying patient’s information to specimens.  - Receives samples from clients and other Interpath sites. - Accurately processes samples in timely manner to ensures Interpath meets established routine and Stat turnaround times. - Maintains specimen integrity from collection point and up to point transferred to technical staff. - Accurately translates physician orders and diagnoses. - Packages samples for referral labs. - Prints and distributes reports. - Follows established safety protocols. - Follows established daily checklist to ensure all tasks performed on schedule. - Understands and adheres to HIPAA policies, procedures and regulations to assure patient confidentiality. - Understands and adheres to Medicare rules regarding ABN’s (Advance Beneficiary Notice).- Actively participates in departmental quality assurance monitors. - Follows all established Internal Quality protocols.- Judges adequacy of submitted specimens, using technical assistance if needed. - Covers work shifts, sometimes at different sites as needed to ensure smooth operations.- Attends work regularly and on time.- Performs other work related duties as assigned.

This position is located at the corporate headquarters campus in Pendleton, Oregon in our core lab. Nearly unparalleled in technology and automation, this lab delights and excites, even the most experienced and accomplished scientists and academics.Work Schedule: Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday Day Shift (1 hour lunch) As the Pacific Northwest's leading Independent Reference Lab, Interpath has the resources and 'bandwidth' to bring new Medical Laboratory Scientists or Technicians up to speed' and encourages new and or soon-to-be Medical Lab Science, Medical Technologist, and Medical Lab Technician graduates to apply. Check out this video about what it's like working at Interpath https://youtu.be/iMaXUt6s9rg  Highlights of Main Job Duties:- Ensures accurate and timely testing of specimens.- Pipettes a large volume of samples on a daily basis on a team rotation basis.- Performs PCR testing with mass spectrometry TOF (time of flight) instrumentation.- Performs Autoimmune ANA (Antinuclear Antibody) testing IFAs (Indirect Fluorescent Assay)- Performs the full range of laboratory tests within the molecular department, with rotation into the Immunology department.- Operates and trouble-shoots complex automated laboratory equipment, electronic equipment, computer software, and precision instruments. - Evaluates test results and recognize abnormal values in specific population groups. - Reports laboratory findings to healthcare providers. - Develops and modifies procedures as needed.  - Establishes and monitors programs, to ensure the accuracy of tests.  - Participates in all aspects of proficiency testing.  - Understands and adheres to HIPAA policies, procedures and regulations to assure patient confidentiality. - Performs administrative duties including excellent customer service to all patients, clients and employees. About Pendleton: Small town living at its best, Pendleton, Oregon is the perfect Western community to call home.  Known for its friendly neighbors, beautiful landscapes and abundant outdoor activities.
